Winter was not the only season to be rainy this year , and the same thing happened again for the next two seasons before the harvest .
A record rainfall of 2024 since local weather measurements began in 1959, and a timid sunshine (30-40% deficit compared to seasonal norms) were a tempting invitation for the sworn enemy of winegrowers and contemporary farmers, mildew.
Despite the battles our teams waged in the vineyard, mildew emerged victorious and considerably reduced the harvest.
We have done our best to ensure the sustainability of our vines, deploying all our efforts to save wood and foliage.
The fact remains that despite a poor harvest on all plots , the overall health status is encouraging, the few champagnes that will be produced from the 2024 harvest will certainly be fine and balanced wines . More in the cellar…
